Gluten Free Turkey Recipe
This was one of the most simple, moist & flavorful turkey recipes I ever made & tasted.
- 1 tbp paprika
- 1 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 1/2 tsps onion powder
- 1 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1 tbsp salt
- 1 1/2 tsp pepper
- Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
- 1 approx 14-pound turkey
- Olive oil, for drizzling
Clean (remove giblets), dry turkey and place in a container with a handle. Add a gluten free tag (they are oven safe) so others know about your gluten restrictions.
Mix paprika, garlic and onion powder, cayenne pepper, thyme and salt and pepper.
Sprinkle the rub inside the turkeys cavity, massage the rub into the meat under the turkeys skin and add the rest on top of the turkey.
Cover the turkey and place in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.
When you are ready to cook your gluten free turkey, preheat oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit and set oven rack to lowest position. Bring turkey to room temperature. Tie the legs together and tuck the wing tips under. Drizzle the outside of the turkey with a few tablespoons of olive oil. Add salt and pepper.
Roast the turkey about 3 hours, or until a thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the thigh registers 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
Cover loosely with foil for 20 minutes and then take it out of the oven.
Let turkey cool for 30 minutes before carving.
Carve and serve.
